Canon MF3110 Printer Not Working on Windows 7

I'm running Windows 7 as my operating system. Now the problem is that i'm unable to get my printer working on my pc. I had installed the printing drivers, but doesn't install the actual printer drivers - with or without third party software. So, can any one tell me that why doesn't my Canon MF3110 printer not working on Windows 7? Any one has any idea about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

Are you connected via USB or network? Did it work before the update? Had the same problem with other printers (HP Laserjet 1022), the solution was the Gutenprint CUPS which loads unsupported printer drivers from your Windows 7. The drivers and the included software, ScanSoft OmniPage SE for optical character recognition (OCR) and Presto PageManager for scanned-document management, install smoothly.

I have exactly the same problem. Bought a macbook pro last week and have the Canon MF3110 printer for my pc setup. You may need to install both Gimp-Print 4.2.7 and Gutenprint 5.0, 5.1, and/or 5.2 concurrently and choose which to use. Remember that the Canon ImageClass MF3110 is a combination laser printer, scanner, and copier. It doesn't fax; it can't automatically copy multiple-page documents; it's not network ready; and--again--it won't make coffee. But you knew that last one.

Most peripherals don't need drivers to install to OSX, which, for the most part is plug and play. Canon does have some Windows 7 drivers available. However, like many other hardware manufacturers they will not fully support for Windows 7. This actually is one of the big advantages of OSX over Windows. I connect to several printers and digital cameras none of which required me to install drivers to work with my MBP, while my wife has to install drivers to use them with her Windows machines.
