    BIOS failure

I was thinking that this is impossible. My BIOS is screwed up and Windows still boots normally. At the startup screen it pops that the settings are incorrect, press F1 to change settings, F2 to load default values.
When I press F1, that takes me to a crashed blue screen (maybe the BIOS).
and F2 loads the settings I had, which are not the default settings. The system now boots normally every time, but the settings of CMOS are being Auto-detected and then there's a black screen with vertical lines just before window gets booted.
I also tried the switches of Jumpers to reset the CMOS memory, but in vain.
Is it possible to get the BIOS back to normal again where I can actually edit the settings?

You have not mentioned your Motherboard. Try to Grab the latest bios that will be suitable for your motherboard. Have you ever tried flashing your BIOS.? If that process was aborted improperly there are chances of such things happening. It will be the Best if you try to take that to the Service Center of respected company.

    Re: BIOS failure

First you try to clean the BIOS with the Clear BIOS jumper located on your Motherboard. That may fix your problem, if no BIOS was uploaded when you attempt to flash it. It may also make the problem worse if something was uploaded. Most of the flash programs can be done from the command prompt with flags that bypass the menus.

    Re: BIOS failure

Here are some steps that can help you (hopefully).

    1. Reset the refresh values in the BIOS or reset the BIOS. Place RAM modules correctly in slot, or change them.
    2. Check that the processor is correctly plugged in, and that the fan is working.
    3. Also check your MB is working properly.

If nothing goes in your way you will have to send your MB for repair.
