The issue can be related to hardware or driver both. Do one thing first go the official site and get the latest drivers for your PC. The drivers are available for free download. Update them and then check again your mouse. If still the connection drops then the problem lies with the hardware. See that your mouse get properly displayed to the system without any obstructions.

The issue seems to be with your mouse. It can be the optical lens of the wireless optical mouse is damaged or some other mouse related issue. Take it to the vendor from whom you purchased it, if it is under warranty or it will be a good idea to consult a computer technician to help you to sort out this issue.
