DVD RW missing after installing Windows 7

    Hi

Previously I had windows vista and now I trying my newly installed Windows 7, which many people say that this OS is a lot better, the trouble begins, DVD RW missing after installing Windows 7. I have tried to do several times an 'upgrade' from the Windows 7 DVD. It takes a long time but at the end of everything, is same. Is there anyone who could help me further?

You should have used driver for the DVD. Windows 7 does not recognized that it easily. Or did you mean after the drive "disappeared" after installation? Indeed, I once had similar problem with Vista. Did you look in device manager to install the player reversed and restarted the pc?

To resolve DVD drive missing, go Device Manager: Start> Control Panel> System> Hardware Tab> Device Manager. See if there is yellow exclamation , then you need to update driver for the DVD drive cd or update it online. I has seen many driver issues with windows 7.

You must have probably installed CD / DVD burner program and then uninstalled. A typical problem that occurs then is that such a package "lower" and "upper" filter records in the drivers from your CD / DVD, but not removing the registry if you de-install. Then your CD / DVD no longer seen. Microsoft describes the problem and the solution for the special case of Easy CD Creator in Q314060. It means that the registration of your upper and lower filters has removed from the registry.

If DVD RW missing after Windows 7 installation, try the below steps, but first may back up of registry. Then try the following :
    1. Open the registry editor
    2. Code:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass (4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318) Lower Filters
    3. Code:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass (4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318) UpperFilters
    4. Close the Registry Editor.

You must restart your system for the changes to take effect.
