    m1522- Hp scan issue

I have a Lenovo t61 with an f300 and a m1522 all in one installed. I am having an issue scanning documents from my hp printer. As usual, everything worked fine a couple weeks ago. When I click on the scan icon I get the following error message: " The instruction at 0x05ea3840 referenced memory at 0x05es3840 the memory could not be read". It has the heading of "hppscan6.exe". Why i'm having m1522- hp scan issue? Any one knows about it? Please help me to resolve the above issue.

I had a similar problem with scanning over network. Sounds like what you are seeking is Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Software. My experience is only with XP clients, but the only way we could get it to scan to computer is you have to install the full driver and software suite to be able to scan.

Usually ,when you first install the printer with the cd, it will give an option for a typical install or a custom install(which is a full install). I had to manually rip out a lot of it, deleting Start Menu shortcuts, HP & Hewlett-Packard subfolders under the Program Files folder. Using the custom/full install will install all the system components for scanning and other options.this can take quite a bit more memory space.

However the scanner is being installed as networkscanner, it cannot be accessed by any scan software on a (vista) client. I have tried it and multiple page scanning via the automatic document feeder now scans all pages properly. This is caused by the installation part which sets a wrong value in the registry. All you need to do is setup the HP laserjet device with the software for Vista and change (set) the following setting in registry.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\hpp\Port=<ipaddress>
