Error message : Setup has detected conflicting device software already installed on this system

Hi,

I just got a MS Wireless IntelliMouse and tried to install its driver in order to fully support its role as tilt wheel, but I got the message and not to continue: "Setup has detected the device software conflict is already installed on this system." I need these drivers to coexist with each other. Any of you tried this before? done successfully without problems?

You are trying to install a new Microsoft mouse, but you have a mouse or keyboard installed earlier on your computer. In some cases, you can install multiple mice or keyboards with no problems but in this case, the software for both devices are contradictory.

To Remove conflicting software, which is causing error, try the below steps :

1. Click Start and Panel.
2. Click Software.
3. Select the conflicting software and click Remove.
4. If the conflicting software is not listed, go to the next method. Follow the instructions to remove the software.
5. Restart the computer when prompted. Install IntelliPoint 5.0 or IntelliType Pro 5.0.

Try installing the latest IntelliPoint program :

1. To perform the most recent version of the IntelliPoint program to download:
2. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer and go to the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/do...s/default.mspx
3. Click IntelliPoint mouse software.
4. Click Wireless Optical Mouse the list Select your product.
5. In the list Select your operating system on your system, click English the list Select your operating system language and click Download Now.
6. In the dialog box File Download at Open and follow the onscreen instructions to install the program.
