Acer aspire 8935g won't connect to internet

I am running windows xp on my Acer Aspire 8935G. It doesn't work fine the problem is when i try to access internet through router via ethernet cable it won't allow me to connect. The "page cannot be displayed" message comes when i access internet through internet explorer.

What firewall you using? And can any other programs access the net like a messenger or anything? If you do ipconfig /all from a command prompt what do you get...

There is no problem with your acer aspire 8935g, it Sounds like you are not getting onto the router. Did you put the right security and pass in? Try turning all security off on the router/modem and and try again.
