| Network Adapter Not Detected
I recently reformatted my hp laptop and after that i cant able to detect my wireless network adapter in my laptop.The network adapter isn't even listed in Device Manager (windows xp). I don't want to reinstall xp again... |

What model number is your laptop?Do you have a hardware switch on the laptop to enable the wireless card? Might be that you system uses an OEM application also. |

Disconnect the wireless adapter, and then reconnect it.Examine the wireless adapter for any visible defects.Test the wireless adapter in all USB ports.Is the laptop plugged in to the power supply when you are attempting to connect to the Ethernet cable? |

This issue can occur if the Service Set Identifier (SSID) for that network has not been added to the list of preferred networks. This can occur if infrastructure networks are detected and wireless detection has been set to auto configuration (the network has not been previously associated with and has not failed an 802.1x authentication attempt). |
