    Problems with eSata connection on Cooler Master Storm Sniper

    I finished editing my Storm Sniper cabinet with the motherboard GIGABYTE P55-UD4 but my OCZ esata drive does not work when connected to the front panel or elsewhere on the 2 eSATA ports the back panel. Yet I connected the sata cable from the front panel but nothing! If all goes well and with a heatpipe Cooler Master Hyper 212 + I do not exceed 30 degrees, it's fantastic. Then where does the problem lies?

    A standard e-SATA port is not expected to provide power, your drive is normally delivered with an outlet for USB power I suppose.

    It is a e-SATA port "power over e-SATA", and they are not many I suspect.

    Otherwise, the easiest way is to test with additional devices like a conventional hard disk e-SATA with its own power.

    Yes my 32GB OCZ drive has a mini USB port and an eSATA port. And my cabinet has an eSATA port on front panel and 2 on Back Panel. One more thing, will it be working if I connect it on mini USB port normally?

    Even I had this kind of issue with my Seagate drive and nothing worked until I finally decided and got a eSATA cable. After connecting everything worked properly as I expected. In short, the drive will work as normal provided you have the correct cables.
