Installing QuickCam Messenger

I am running Windows 7 operating system on my computer. How to install a QuickCam Messenger without the original CD from the manufacturer? With most drivers compatible Vista/7 (as one example) that I found on the Internet, I still left Windows asking me to connect the webcam. Where is the problem lying and how can I solve it?

Re: Installing QuickCam Messenger

Some series have this webcam but no drivers for Vista/7 (the problem of big money from Microsoft and Logitech?). In any case, Logitech agrees to send you a new cam if you tell them about the problem, and that you return the USB cord.

I had the same problem with my Pro 4000. To solve this problem I went for XP drivers (installed in XP compatibility mode) and finally everything started working.

Could you tell me how exactly it worked? In my case, at the time of detection (or when you are asked to plug the camera) how did you do? Over here, when I try to disconnect or reconnect even more USB ports, nothing is detected in Plug & Play!

Re: Installing QuickCam Messenger

Just find the right drivers and the problem of detection would simply vanish. In fact the concern is that since some version of QuickCam are no longer supported, so the last version supporting your camera should be a compatible version for Windows XP.
