MP3 and webcam impossible to install

I have a problem with my new laptop with Windows XP installed on it. When I plug my mp3 player or my webcam, the installation wizard starts up and tells me that can not install the device. But I don't have a installation cd for these devices. But they worked just fine with my old laptop under Windows XP. Does someone has any idea why I am having problem with my MP3 and Webcam?

This may be due to drivers not detected on your new OS. Simply, without the CD, you can find the drivers on the internet. By the way can you provide us some more information about your webcam and your mp3 player?

Can you use other devices like printers and scanners ? However we recommend installing the software first and then plugging the hardware. Unplug your equipment. Download software and install it. The program should ask you a moment to plug the device. This can be the time where you need to take the action.

Thank you very much, I managed to install my webcam.

But for the mp3 player, it gets stuck, I've tried downloading drivers but I'm not sure it has done anything.

My mp3 is a Archos Gmini XS100.
