Flashing green light on power supply

My Dell laptop is not working properly. When i start my laptop power supply light on laptop flashes but it won't start.The green light in the back also flashes but won't boot up. Does anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it?Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Try replacing your power supply with a quality, name brand one, at least 300Watts and you need 400watt power supply if you run two HDD's or at least one DVD burner.

Are you referring to the green light next to an Ethernet port or some other light? Try unplugging and plugging in the main motherboard, It might be a simple matter of a connector on a cable between the power button and the motherboard working loose in transmission of power.

It may be a failed power supply. Unplug all the power cables (motherboard and peripherals) take out power supply and connect another power supply if it still giving the same problem then it is related with your motherboard.
