Need to use a serial device in usb port

Hello friends,

I just grabbed a device that uses a serial cable, but I do not have a port on my Computer.I would like to connect this device with my computer.So what am asking is that Is there anyway I can download a driver that will let me to use in a regular usb port? Would like immediate help if possible.

I have not completely captured what you are talking about. It the mentioned "USB 2 Serial Communication" added by you or does the device come with a build in "USB 2 Serial Communication"? If the case is latter you have to have a driver from the vendor for OS X. If it comes only with the umpusbxp.sys when it will just run under Windows. umpusbxp.sys is the USB driver specifically written for Windows. I do not have certain knowledge about the umpusbxp.sys driver
