Hp LaserJet 4050 printer shows 41.5 error

I have a Hp LaserJet 4050 printer. Now the problem is that when i try to print a configuration page, it displays a 41.5 PRINTER ERROR on my desktop screen. If i try to continue printing the same page by pressing the Go key, it displays an unexpected paper size been used. Does anyone have specific experience with the 41.5 Error on their Hp printer? What does this error code mean? Please let me know the solution to get rid of the above issue.

The error table in the HP LJ 4050 service manual states that a "41.5" error is a media feed error and directs the technician to reseat the laser scanner connections. Could be a problem with the back door or the top cover? To test remove the top cover and defeat the cover open switch and hold the back door closed and print a test sheet.

Reseating the separation roller clutch and feed separation roller should fix this issue. f the problem remains, the next recommended action is to replace the laser scanner, and then the engine controller board.

Other than that, it can be the paper sensor block under the DC Controller, or the torque converter in the paper tray. You may want to remove the roller and then remove the clutch which sits behind it. Put the roller back on and see if it works. If the error persists, contact your dealer or HP Service Technician for the above issue.
