    1. remove the hard disk from your computer
    2. change jumper from master into slave
    3. insert your hard disk now in a friend's computer or in an another one.

This will help you know what exactly wrong with your Hard disk OR your computer.

It's possible that there "might" have a bios update to fix the problem. The manufacturer of the drive, a program may have to trim around the problem will get. Another, and probably the best solution to the problem would have to buy a PCI IDE controller.

Verify compatibility. Verify that the host adapter and the drive to fit together and are adapted to your computer. Refer to the relevant documentation for details.
Check all cards. Verify that all cards in their slots on the motherboard with screws put up and secured. Check all cables and switches. Make sure all ribbon and power cables are securely connected. The wires of the ribbon are easily damaged, especially at the switch. Try a new cable that you know is good. Do not switch pins are bent. Verify that pin 1 on the interface cable is designed to pin 1 on the drive and host adapter (see Figure 2 on page 6).
Verifier jumper settings. Review the instructions in this guide in your installation directory of the host adapter. Make sure all appropriate jumpers geïnstalleerdn necessary or deleted.
Check your power-supply specifications. Each time a new device you add to your computer, make your cornputer 'sure; s internal power supply can support the total power demand. If necessary, consult your dealer for a new power supply.
Checked the drive-type settings in the system setup program. Should the drive-type settings in the system BIOS does not exceed the physical specifications of your drive. Also, the settings must not exceed the limits provided by the operating system and BIOS are placed.
    Check viruses.
