Disable mouse click sound

Recently i had bought a new Dell D2400 on which i had installed Windows Xp as my operating system. I'm using Internet Explorer 7 as my web browser. Whenever i click my mouse on any web pages links on Internet Explorer 7, i can hear the click sound from my speakers. I can hear the sound from my speakers even when i'm listening the music. So, can any body tell me that how can i disable the mouse click sound? Does nay body knows about it? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue. Any kind of information on the above issue would be appreciated.

Re: Disable mouse click sound

In your windows control panel under Sounds and audio devices. The sound scheme has several properties for IE events. Just need to set a registry key on your pc.

As for use of the Registry, normally one should typically use the control panel and not touch the registry. Look under Sounds and Audio Devices/Sounds/Explorer. Set the navigation sounds (complete and start) to none.

Re: Disable mouse click sound

You can disable the sound you hear with every click of a mouse by doing the following:

1. First of all you need to click on the Start button.
2. Then need to click on Settings and select Control Panel.
3. Afterwards you need to double-click on Sounds.
4. Then in the Events field, you need to scroll down the list to Windows Explorer and have to click on Start Navigation.
5. Afterwards in the Name field of the Sound section, you need to verify that None is selected from the drop-down menu.
6. Finally Click on OK button. That's it and your job is done.
