Download, create and use Diagnostic CD 2.2 or later revision to test HDD SATA, this also solves the problem of systems with a motherboard Orion. Alternatively, you can change the BIOS Settings to activate SATA0 as primary master. The way to accomplish this depends on the motherboard of your system. Please consult the documentation of the BIOS of your motherboard to see the options available.

In the case of Windows XP, start your PC on the installation CD of XP. Once in the Setup menu in XP, type "R" to start the Recovery Console. Answer the various questions loading this console:

    • The number of system repair: if XP is the only system installed, enter the 1 key to enter the console that you want to repair Windows XP.
    • The administrator password if you initiate an administrator password to install XP, please indicate. If no password has been initialized, leave this field blank (note no space).
    • Then the command prompt (C: \ WINDOWS) is displayed.
    • You must type this command: fixboot C: (if your active partition is named C, please adjust this command if it is not).
    • The fixboot command repairs the boot sector (boot) XP.
    • It'll just restart your PC. Enter the command EXIT and press ENTER.

check that there have not a floppy in your drive. In fact, if your BIOS you set a boot order so that the PC looks first at the floppy drive and a floppy disk system is not present in drive 1.44 Mb, you always kind of error message. The second cause, and certainly the most likely, this error is a problem with system files, especially those that allow your PC to run the operating system. Of course, the solution to this problem depends on the operating system you use.
