Acer Aspire 5100-3357

I am having a Acer Aspire 5100-3357 Laptop with me which having installed Windows XP on it....! I am facing a strange problem with it... My Laptop is not able to detect CD's, DVD's etc in it... Can anyone tel me what might be the problem with it...????

I think you might be having the problem with the the CD or DVD you are using... I think you must check for that CD or DVD on the others computer for having a look weather CDor DVD is not corrupted....!

Check for the Driver you have installed... There is a possibility of the driver you have installed is got corrupted... So firstly check for the driver or reinstall the driver for it... There are many other possibility of CD or DVD not working but firstly i will ask you to go step by step.... So check for the driver... Then look it it works or not...!

As if both the above solution doesn't work for you then look weather the laptop is working fine & the DVD drive is connected properly... Another solution for it is that you must have lost the lens which reads the data in it.....! I think you must go to the wender for repairing that thing & if it ask you to replace it the immediately replace it...!
