Media Center 2005 Record issue

Sponsored Links
Hi,
I have media center 2005 in my home theater system. Now here I am planing to add more than 1 tuner card in it. This will help me to record more shows at one time. I already have a one hauppauge TV tuner card. So I want to know that if I add up a new one then will give out error or work properly. As my current system is working fine so I will not go further if this will spoil my system. My motive is to record as many shows I can. So what can be the proper option for this. Thanks in advance.

Re: Media Center 2005 Record issue

You can use a dual TV tuner card in your system. I had tried this before. I was having a Happauge and ATi in a single home theater sytem. My Media center has anyhow manage to work with both. There were more shows added up to my media center guide. Now the problem is you cannot switch to your desired tuner in the Media center. That is not possible in it. Here it is recommended that at one you should use a single tuner for the reliability of media center. The main reason for a system conflict can be the drivers. So you will need to take care about that.

Yes you can record multiple programs at a single time. Some edition of Windows Media Center are equipped with this option. They support Dual Tuner and helps user to record more than one shows with watching movies. For this you will check your products details given by the manufacturer. If it is shown one then the second will not work. The best way is schedule a recording and let windows to record your show.

The best way is to use MCE Webguide and record schedule multiple shows without the user interface. I always try this in order to avoid a expense of dual card and driver conflict. You can even control the scheduling via internet. The plug in available for free download. The feature of the product is configure schedule recording anytime and anywhere, easy mce interface, live scheduling, etc.

you can also use NVIDIA NVTV you can use PC to watch TV and DVDs, create videos, listen to music, play games, and more. To meet these requirements, NVIDIA offers the NVIDIA NVTV™ PCI TV tuner card; in both single and dual tuner configurations for Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005.
