How do i get to removable media on my computer

Yesterday i attach my mobile phone to computer and pen drive It did't show up in "My Computer". I don't know what is the issue can you know what is the issue and solution for this ?

There are only xp that automatically detects new media, so if you win 98 or 2000 (or 95) its not. Have you install their driver for windows so that you can recognize ?

I also face the same issue when i use a broadband network adapter, a printer and a scanner. This all started when my paid for AVG security but expired entries remained in the Device Manager list. (I use F Secure), which affected my internet connection. System I have to restore, downloaded Revo Uninstaller and a thorough reorganization of an AVG. This worked and I was able to use the network adapter again but the phone and the camera will not connect. The computer recognizes and names them but not install.
