    Its really simple.
You just need to go to MY computer then select your thumb drive & then right click on it & select the "Format" option.
This is what you need to reformat your thumb drive.

Well you can also format your thumb drive through the command prompt.
First see what is the letter assigned to your thumb drive by windows.
    Say it is "E".
    now
Go to Start- run - (Dos command prompt)
Type - format e:\ (enter) [e is the letter assigned by windows to your USB key.]

    I hope this helps.

In OSX, go to the Disk Utility in the case of Utility (in Applications). Take the thumb drive into a USB port on. Click the white drive icon in the tree containing the name of your thumb drive answered. Click "Erase table. For the format of the volume select "MAC OS Extended '. Click " MAC OS Extended (Journaled) "if you select the drive with MAC OS. Click delete button.
