    What are the TOSLINK cables

    While searching for Digital Audio cables i found this Digital Audio Cable post here on this forum. Well, it has nice info but i confused with optical audio cable and Toslink. I can understand what is Optical cable but what is TOSLINK ? Please help.

    Toslink and Optical Cable are same and they are standardized optical fiber connection system.The TOSLINK standard was first developed by Toshiba to provide connections in its CS players.It was soon adopted by manufacturers of most CD players. The early systems used TOSLINK raw PCM data from the CD player, the standard S / PDIF is now become universal for audio streams . It transmits digital quality sound from Set-Top-Box, DVD Player, to HDTV.The important feature of fiber optic cables is that they sound signals into light pulses in contrast to convert electrical signals. TOSLINK cables usually their signals as red LED lights on.
