Recently i deleted some data in mistake from my computer. Can someone help me out and maybe give me a step by step advise to view some information on a hard drive that was deleted?

I think you are not looking for the data recovery program. You can install conky which will display all info about your machine on the desktop all the time. Great app IMHO.Now go to System>>Preferences>>System Monitor. The file system tab will show you all mounted partitions and their usage.
