Retry failed power calibration is full dvd error

Hi,
I am getting continuous error while burning a disc. The error was failed power calibration. The error log shows a series of error mentioned above. I had tried changing a different disc, re-installing Nero 9. But still the problem persist. What is the exact cause of this issue. Is it related to my Hardware failure. Thanks.

Yes it can be a hardware error. Because of some unreliable driver files or timely degradation the error pops up. You will not need to upgrade your disc burner. Try to re-install a driver or run a firmware upgrade for the device. But still if the problem does not goes then definitely you hardware is damaged. You need a replacement.

The Power Calibration service is control by the DVD Drive. Before burning a disc the recorder performs a 15 step power to test to determine the there is adequate power available. This this what actually called Optimum Power Calibration. When the drive is burning a disc it continuously examines the process. The result of error can be a poor media, bad powe supply or defective recorder.

When you receive the error that means you power supply is not proper. Open you CPU case and connect a different power connector at the backside. Then upgrade a new firmware version and try a different disc of another brand. May be just by changing the power connector the problem can be solved. Otherwise the only way is to upgrade a new burner.
