Can you burn a dvd with a cd-writer

i am having files which is more than 700mb that i want to bun on the disk now problem is i dont have dvd writer i have cd writer so i want to know is there any way to burn dvd in cd rom ?

The laser device present in the DVD writer is different from the one present in the CD writer.so you can not burn dvd in cd rom well you looks behind from time my suggestion is go and get dvd writer its now cheap and one can easily buy.

difference between DVDs and CD-ROMs is much less . The size is common for both disks 120 NM in diameter and1.2 NM thick. Both usually are labeled on the clear plastic center, near the hole. so you can read dvd in cd rom but you need to change its lens and its firmware so better to get new dvd rom.
