Arrow reformatting Harddisk again n again

Does reformatting Hard Disk again and again decreases hard disk life?

What is the difference between quick formatting and full formatting.
I have read that quick formatting donot erases all data in drive while full formatting do.

Is there any other difference between quick and full formatting?

When you choose to run a regular format on a volume, files are removed from the volume that you are formatting and the hard disk is scanned for bad sectors. The scan for bad sectors is responsible for the majority of the time that it takes to format a volume.

If you choose the Quick format option, format removes files from the partition, but does not scan the disk for bad sectors. Only use this option if your hard disk has been previously formatted and you are sure that your hard disk is not damaged.

Re: reformatting Harddisk again n again

The basic difference between quick and full format is that when you run a Quick format Windows quickly deletes the root folder and FAT. But still you cannot see the files they are on your hard disk which can be recovered by a data recovery tool. But in case of full format everything is completely deleted and hard disc is scanned for bad sectors. Normally it is true that formatting again and again degrades your hard disk. It reduces the durability of the hard drive. But this happens if the hard is very old. The adverse effects are data loss, corrupt data, slow performance, etc. The best way to keep your pc safe is to scan for virus with a good antivirus program.
