What is difference between Mode 1 & Mode 2 disc

I was reading a article on a difference between Mode 1 and Mode 2xA encoded disc. I was just trying to find out that which one will give more stable result. The stability depends on the time of usage in different type of cd roms and dvd players. Can anyone list me the exact difference between them both and some suggestion regarding which one is more durable.

There is not much difference between both the modes of disc burning. The Model 1 is a simple way of creating disc with error protection and Mode 2 stands for a Extended Architecture. But here I am not exactly sure about this. According to me the Mode 1 has data correction ability. But for the safer side I will recommend you to use Mode 1.

There are 3 basic mode by which a file is stored in a disc. The first one is as usual mode 1. In this mode there is a error correction thing. It is the most normal method of burning a disc. Then in mode it is quiet to similar to the first one but this mode uses a error correction codes. The only difference is that it easily readable by the operation systems. The the last one is without error correction. The motive is to fill up the cd as much as possible ignoring the errors.

The advantage of mode 1 is that it gives more error detection and correction ability. The built features tries to burn data with maximum correction. So there is less chance of data being corrupted. In the mode you can record more data on a bytes. In mode 1 a extra assurance is given to protect the data and in mode 2 the only thing is to burn a maximum amount of data. So the better side is to use Mode 1.
