How to find serial number on Compaq pc

I'm having a Compaq pc on which i had installed Windows Xp as my operating system. I would like to know that how to find serial number on my Compaq pc? Does any body knows about it? Kindly provide me the correct information on the above issue. Would be grateful to you, if any body provides me the correct information on the above issue.

The model number, product number, and serial number are printed on a service tag that is fastened to the bottom of the notebook. You can also find the serial number in the BIOS or by pressing FN+esc keys in Windows.

There is a program which runs in dos and it gives all the details on product key and to whom it is registered. Press F10 once a second at the Compaq splash screen. You will then be in the bios menu. Look at all the sub-menus and somewhere in there you will find the serial #. It is 12 digit alphanumeric.
