I had heard it in a review that it helps to generate DVD labels. How create those labels. How the technology works. What is system requirement for this. Does creating labels degrade the quality of the DVD playback audio. Thanks.

LightScribe is a new technology that is not familiar to many users. The only drawback of this technology is that it not independent. Because you need all the specific hardware's which supports this technology. You need a LighScribe enabled DVD Drive and DVD disc. When your purchase a LightScribe too you will receive some LightScribe disc and a software to create your own label.

LightScribe is new technology by HP. This technology helps you to create your own disc labels. There are special disc which has dark coating on them. Not like the traditional one. To create a label on disc you need a LightScribe enabled drive, Ligthscribe disc and lightscirbe software. The disc which are LightScribe enabled are burned by the drive. The label is created in the drive by a laser beam. This burns the label on the disc and creates cd labels. The software is in wizard mode which guides you for the process.

It is true that creating label in LightScribe media can degrade the disc quality. The labels are not termed as efficient as it should be. If you want to print any label on the disc then Inkjet is the best solution for this. But Inkjets are usd for commercial purpose so it is very costly. This technology is cheap and effective but there are many chances that the disc becomes unreliable.
