Dell or HP server

Hi

I need to buy a server for one of my clients who is a small business with 5 users.

Need to buy a server ( dell or Hp ) with MS SBS. Any suggesstions. Someone asked me to buy a Dell T300. Its around 6k in Australia. I don't mind spending 4k to 5k but 6 k may be overboard.
Ideally I thought the server shd have at Raid 5 capability.

Please provide any comparision or suggesstions.

Thanks
Shakee

Re: Dell or HP server

I think Dell is a better brand than Hp for servers. The Dell PERC RAID controllers leave something to be desired, IMO
If the decision is financial then you can go with HP.

Re: Dell or HP server

HP 9000 rp3400 server series is best suited for you. HP 9000 rp3410/rp3440 Servers, with support for the robust HP-UX 11i operating system, are built to handle workloads requiring high availability and ample bandwidth. Designed with a sleek form factor (2U chassis) that provides attractive performance density, these servers are ideal if your small- to medium-sized business consists of distributed sites and branch offices. They're also built for the application and Web services tiers of enterprise data centers.

In addition to handling the demands of any business application, the HP 9000 rp3400 server series—as with the entire HP 9000 server family—integrates seamlessly into your existing IT infrastructure to provide longevity and investment protection. The same HP zx1 Chipset contained in the HP 9000 rp3400 server series is also designed for use with HP Integrity servers based on the Intel Itanium 2 processor.

The standardized approach of the HP 9000 rp3400 server series also enables an easy in-box upgrade from the HP 9000 rp3410 Server to the HP 9000 rp3440 Server.
