Dell Inspiron 6400 key assembly

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook on which i had installed Windows Vista as my operating system. However, my 'Z' key popped off a few days ago, and part of the plastic latch on the underside of it broke off, rendering the key useless. Can any body tell me that how do i get my Dell Inspiron 6400 'Z' key repaired? Does any body knows about it? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue.

They key lies in the white plastic base that goes underneath the keys. Virtually all computer Dell INSPIRON 6400 keyboard are open to the air. Try various permutations and combinations but when ultimately you get it right, it will be completely flat like a straight line, then you put it on the keyboard, place the silicon thing in the middle that helps press the PCB and press the key, it will instantly click and you are done.

You could go into device manager and right click your display adapter to try updating to the newest ones.Fortunately, correcting a finicky keyboard is a relatively straightforward process. If that doesn't help, or you're already at the newest one, you may want to try rolling back the driver one or two versions to see if it works.

I think you should try to order the keyboard from the manufacturer. Or plug a USB keyboard into the computer and type on that. Go to a computer repair store near you and ask them to repair it. It will be cheap enough than calling to Dell or send it to them.
