| Re: Mit lithium battery breakthrough
In the near future the batteries could recharge in seconds. Researchers at MIT have discovered an effective method to recharge more quickly lithium ion batteries. These are widely used in all kinds of devices, electric cars to mobile phones via laptops. This is changing the structure of a lithium ion battery current by adding a layer of lithium phosphate, which helps to deliver more quickly and directly the ions in the battery. The ability to load and unload the batteries in seconds, not hours should open new horizons. A Phone could be recharged in about ten seconds, a car in minutes, provided of course that the power source is sufficiently powerful. Their technology uses materials and could therefore be on the market in the next two years. Two unspecified companies have already licensed the use of this technology into commercial products. |

| Re: Mit lithium battery breakthrough
A breakthrough innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is now being published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature. It is a battery lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO 4) to boost the flow of Li + by using an electrode composed of microspheres of LiFePO 4 (which stores the ions Li +) encapsulated glass LiFePO 4 (the structure was amorphous, unlike the structure crystalline properties of lead ions for Li +). Batteries Lithium iron phosphate obtained by the researchers can: - The 5 minutes to recharge a battery electric car. - 10 seconds for the battery of a mobile phone - 20 seconds for the battery of a laptop ... These new batteries for electric vehicles allow you to get an optimal braking energy (battery brake), to complete the full 5 minutes and have exceptional acceleration. |

| Re: Mit lithium battery breakthrough
Byoungwoo Kang and Gerbrand Ceder, MIT researchers have found a solution to these drawbacks that hamper large-scale development of electric vehicles, while continuing to use the LiFePO4 . They have developed a coating that conducts ions and electrons of lithium into the tiny cavities of the material making up the battery, thereby greatly accelerating the passage of current between the negative electrode (anode) and positive. |
