Epson stylus photo rx500 printer error

Hi,

My Epson stylus photo rx500 printer, all in one is unable to scan. I am using the Epson software to drive the scanner. The printer still works if I plug it into XP or as stand alone. It will scan with Vista, but just not print. HELP. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you have print a preview selected in the printer settings. Go into the printer settings and be sure that the "Print Preview" is not selected. Follow the directions, step by step and did not try to do this without reading the installation first.

General performance is also very good. So far I had no problems with printing or scanning of normal documents. Disconnect the printer from the PC, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove and uninstall any Epson printer software that may have been installed foryour printer then download the software, install it and don't reconnect the printer until the software tells you to do so. It would work on your PC but use http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/rx500_/rx500_pg.pdf and navigate your way through the Drivers.

You need to download and install both the printer and scanner software for your all-in-one. Follow the steps below to install the printer driver and TWAIN Driver/Epson Scan Utility.

To install TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility :

• Turn off the printer and disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
  
  
• Go to the Drivers & Downloads page.
  
  
• Download the TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility for Windows Vista. Make a note of the file name and save location so you can easily retrieve it.
  
  
• Open the file you downloaded, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver software.
  
  
• If you see a Windows Security window, click Install or Install this driver software anyway.
  
• Click Finish when done.
