Hp computer freezes with white screen

Hi,

I have been having a problem with my HP Pavilion p6000 from past week. My Hp computer has been freezing occaisonally. Once I moved the desktop on to the desk, that helped to reduce the frequency of the white screens. I've checked for loose connections on the MB, and both of the connections on the inverter board without results. I hit ctrl+alt+delete x2 to get some control and then I couldn't get the tower to power up at all.

Hp computer freezing problem, sounds more like a monitor problem than a video card is overheating. What happens when you disconnect the VGA cable?so if you plug in a external monitor you get a display? Also have you tried to update your video drivers?

Install latest video drivers. if onboard video, try installing latest chipset drivers. Make sure your case has better airflow internally by installing a case fan pulling air in from the front and one in the rear blowing air out. If it does then right click My Computer, click properties, click hardware and device manager, then click your video device and click properties. Try rolling back the video driver.

Try changing the power options. If it is white in the bios then there is a hardware problem. Also try the monitor on another system and/or try a different monitor on your system. Otherwise clean all connecters and scratch the metall with something sharp. Some but not all of the problem units have an extended service "recall" that might help you.
