Over-heating problems with Acer Aspire

hello friends,

I am having acer aspire 5000 laptop with me. When I start my laptop, after 20-25 minutes, all of a sudden laptop starts heating up. So I have to forcefully turnoff everything and keep it as it is for about 1 to 2 hours. This over-heating issue is really getting out of my nerves. Can anybody please provide some remedies to solve this problem ?

Any useful suggestions and ideas please.....
Help..!

Re: Over-heating problems with Acer Aspire

There are several reasons that causes over-heating of your processor. One of the main reason is the dust and lint that is been collected in the cooling fins on the CPU fan. CPU fan is meant for cooling the environment under continous processing. I would advice you to clean the dust from CPU fans. Instead clean the whole heatsink...

If you have recently purchased an acer aspire notebook and you are facing this over-heating issue, then I would suggest you to sent your product back to the company and get it repaired under warranty, instead of trying yourself.

You can also try doing this -

lower the processor speed & voltage

check RMClock - depending on selected settings, it will slowdown your processor

replace thermal paste - helps to lower internal temperture

adjust game settings to lower values

Re: Over-heating problems with Acer Aspire

OverHeating is a serious issue hat cannot be neglected. TRY to contact Acer Customer Service and explain your problem, and make sure they fix it. If that doesn't work, then demand a refund.

If anyhow you get the refund, then this time select another company's laptop model , like HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Sony, etc....
Till now, I have came across around 3-4 acer laptops, all of them having overheating problems
