How to disable touchpad in HP 8710w laptop

    hey,

I have a HP 8710w laptop. In my laptop, the onboard touchpad mouse is very sensitive. A little touch sometimes performs unwanted tasks like selecting unnecessary options, disconnecting from internet, etc. So I wanted to disable the touchpad from my 8710w laptop and need to connect regular mouse now....

How can I disable the onboard touchpad ?
    Any help please.....

The above steps provided by Hardwareman are very important instructions for the removal and replacement of theTouchPad Assembly for the HP Compaq 8710p, HP Compaq 8710w and HP Compaq 8510p series notebook PCs. This document is original and provided from HP. In order to get the better idea, refer to this HP link to view a Video.

Check the BIOS to see whether there is any option for pointing devices. It may be something similar to Simultaneous Pointing Devices. If there exists any such option, just Enable/Disable this feature. When you connect an external mouse, the touchpad should be disabled.
