Dell xps gen 3 upgrade to core 2 duo

i am having Dell XPS Gen 3 CPU included Pentium 4 Processor (3.40 GHz, 800 FSB), Windows XP Professional, DDR2RAM, SATA hard drive, Sound Blaster , ATI Radeon X800XT (PCIe x16). but i am looking for upgrade it to core 2 duo is that possible ?

I think you can not just upgrade processor as there processor need support from motherboard with lots of aspect that must be match like fsb and more so capacity of motherboard is considerable but i think if you go for upgrade with motherboard , processor, ram .

I think you can not change configuration as your need the problem can be power supply as dell uses some different types of power supply that will not work for motherboard other than dell so you also need to upgrade your power supply

I think if you have motherboard with LGA775 socket you can go for core 2 duo so check for it otherwise upgrading to core 2 duo will be no longer exist as your dell brand. Another option get new machine form dell all latest one comes with core 2 duo.
