    S M P S Power Rating

    What shud be the power output wattage of the power supply unit for the following configurations
    1)2.8 ghz intel core 2 duo
    2)gigabyte G31 motherboard
    3)2 Gb Ram
    4)one 80gb harddisk + one 160 gb harddisk
    5)nvidia 9500gt or 9500 gs graphics card
    6) plz also consider power requirement of USB slots
    7) Is Circle SMPS that is being offered a good one along with the cabinet

    I think 500 Watt PSU will be quite enough.

    You are going to use the Graphic Card in your system. So it is recommended that you must use a power supply minimum at around 550W. Regular computers normally has a 250w power supply. It is enough for the computer without gpu. But graphic cards need more power supply. Buy any 550w power supply.

    If you are building a future-proof computer, its better to get a 650 or 750 Watts SMPS. More more because you can connect a lot of stuff and keep it connected will not hamper the computer's operation...
