what makes a sound card good

I am facing a problem my sound card with is giving me bad sound... I tried all the possible ways to solve that problem but was not worth full... Now i have decided to buy a new sound card Can any one suggest me the new sound card.... for my computer...!

I will suggest you to buy the THX Certified product so that in future you will not face such consequences.... Also Creative is also comes under this & i also prefer to creative sound card.... as i am using the same it is worth spending money on it....!

I think you both have given me the right solution but it will cost me a lot so i was thinking of buying just a ordinary card for it.... please suggest some cheap but a good sound card which suits my budget...!

Again i will suggest you to buy the THX Certified Product as it will cost you little expensive but it will be very worth using your money.... Even i was thinking same as you told but it will cost more then you may spend for this one as if again get any defect & need to replace the next then again you need to spend the same.... So why not buy something worth full...!
