Keyboard problem in Toshiba laptop

I have a Toshiba laptop in which keyboard and touchpad doesn't respond properly. Some of the keys are not working properly. I have to press 4-5 times each key to get typed once. Also on the login screen, when I press turnoff button, it doesn't shutdown, but goes into Sleep/Hibernation/Power-save mode. Also, when I fold down the laptop, then also it puts it into Power-save mode. Is there anyway to fix this problem ? What is the problem with my keyboard ?

I think you will need to reset the Motherboard CMS. Pull the CMS battery out and reinsert it. That should hopefully fix the problem.

In such case, what you should do is - - Bring your friend's keyboard and plug the keyboard into the side of your laptop via USB port.

Logon and goto Control Panel
Check the keyboard settings and see what is happening with your keyboard.
