Software to use handycam as a webcam

I am purchased sony HDR-HC7 Handycamcamcorder which has professional grade Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar, T Lens with 10x optical/20x digital zoom and a 1/2.9" ClearVid CMOS sensor. In addition to pristine quality video, you can capture 4.6 megapixel still images while the camcorder is recording video with the dual record mode feature. Can i use handycam as webcam ?

Most of the sony handycams usb has been used to work the cam as webcam. The firewire link connector to the handycam is for converting the video to harddisk for movie editing.

You want to use sony handycam as a USB webcam on your computer here i got driver for USB Webcam driver for Windows XP . Now you can use sony handycam as webcam.

Thanks for the information now i am now using my handycam as webcam but there is one problem that i amt able to use voice chat at the same time. can you know whats the problem ?

Just check have you install handycam driver properly ? If not then install handy cam driver properly. go to the audio or video settings in your chat program and change the microphone to usb audio

but still unable to use my camera as webcam??

The possibility seems that the driver is not supporting the device with the operating system you use. So do check for the same that is for the compatibility and then make the installation of the application. This will surely let you to get to a proper solution and make the change.
