    Intel DP55KG Motherboard random reboot

I have installed 64 bit windows 7 operating system on my computer which has an Intel DP55KG Motherboard. This system is getting rebooted at random time and an only indication i got after enabling the event log in the BIOS. There is given that CMOS Battery Failure, CMOS Checksum Error & CMOS Time Not Set. What could be the problem here, Is there anybody with the same motherboard?

It would have been better if you mention the specification of your win 7 system as there could be some other problem as well behind the random reboot problem on your machine instead of going anything wrong on the motherboard. So please provide some more information about your system.

Re: Intel DP55KG Motherboard random reboot

Ohh i am so sorry, I have an Intel DP55KG Motherboard with an Intel Core i7 processor. But i do not thing that there would be anything regarding the processor here. And have Corsair 750W Power Supply with the memory support of OCZ Gold 4GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800). And there is nVidia GTX 260 video card. Is anymore things needed as my system's configurations?

This might be the memory problem, I am using the same model of mother board with my G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM and there is no problem while using it.
I have seen that an OCZ memory is rated at 1.65 volts which in fact going above the suggested range for this motherboard.

It seems that you have got 8 Gb memory on your system and i have seen it on an official website of an OCZ and they says that this memory requires 1.65 volts at 1600 MHz and this is an issue with your motherboard. You motherboard must be running the memory at 1.5 volts which might be causing this problem.

I think there would be some virus on your system which might be causing this problem. That virus would be affecting an operating system of your machine which would be resulting in the random reboot of your machine. So i guess there is nothing wrong with the motherboard of your system.
