Cann't see Cd drive

when i inserted a compact disc in my notebook,it cant read,even its not
showing icon D: drive (CD-RW) or anything in my computer ,what is the problem do i need purchase a new drive??kindly help me

well try with another cd, one which you are sure to be working on other computers.problem?? then just check for some noises when u insert the cd.. if it makes some noise then try using the lens cleaning cd's available in the market.which got tiny kinda brush on them which help cleaning the lens of the drive if it still experiencing difficulty approach the purchased dealer

hii, when i faced similar situation me checked Device manager, to see if it's disabled, or not being recognized (probably a failing or corrupted driver).Have you checked your bios?... it may be disabled.

Sounds like a hard ware problem ..may be cd chord got disconnect
else you need to replace it with a fresh one
