Hp laserjet 3050 scanning problem on Windows Vista

I'm running Windows Vista on my pc. Recenently i hag bought a new Hp laserjet 3050 printer which i had attach with my ssytem. Now the problem is that when i try to scan, it gives out an error message stating that "scanner cannot be initialized". Where as if i try to print or fax, i'm able to do it, but if i try to scan it shows me the above error message on my screen. Cana ny body tell me that why i'm having such problem on my pc? Does any body knows about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue.

I think you are facing the above issue only if your Windows is not able to see the scanner, or it might be that the scanner is trying to use an OEM driver instead of going for built in windows support.

Have you installed the proper scanner driver on your system? You may have received it at the time of buying the new Hp laserjet 3050 printer. they provide you a kit in which you will get the scanner driver disk in it. You nee to install that scanner driver disk on your pc, in order to resolve the above scanning problem.
