portable hard disk problem

i got 2 portable hard disk.. one of digit and the other i dont know..
the problem is that both of them are not read by computer..
so.. i wanna know.. these portable hard disk are repairable or not..?
and if yes.. then to whom should i go.... mean the shopkeepers who sells computer ... or some other ... pls help

From where did you get those portable hard drive? Was it working fine before? What happens when you connect it into your pc? Download drivers of your portable hard drives from manufacturer website or the cd which might have been provided along with the box and install it in your pc.

Your computer cannot read those portable hard disk. That means it is not recognized by the computer or there may be some error reading the disk. Go through the following threads and try to get some help:

Hey I think you need to check if you have connected the hdd properly or not?
First see if it has a single cord or 2 cords? 1 for power & 1 for data.
Both cords will be attached to the USP port.
If you get power in the drive & can see the spinning of the spindle then the hdd is repairable Now you need to see why you are not able to see the hdd on your computer? For this there may be various reasons.
like virus infection to your computer, No drivers found, USB port disabled 7 so on..

i dont know the manufacturer's name..
on the head of one of the hard disk it is written Digit usb2.0 and on the other just usb 2.0
both of them are not detected by any system, i.e. i have tried on differenct pc's
now i wanna have a solution to make them work.. pls.. and pls tell me where shall i take them to get repaired..

i dont know.. from where my relative bought this and when..
