PCI System Management Bus drivers problems

i have computer with windows 98 operating system and i have installed all the required driver for the os.when i start computer windows detect all the hardware and shows pop up for unknown device and pci system management bus drivers. means it ask for driver.i download the latest driver and load it on my computer but it still ask for the same thing.

Use the following steps to identify your chipset using the Microsoft Windows Device Manager.Open Device Manager using the steps listed for your particular operating system.

Windows 98: click the Start button » click Settings » click Control Panel » double-click the System icon » click the Device Manager tab.Click the + sign to expand the System devices entry.

You could look for updated drivers on the Intel website : Intel chipse driver

i tried that solution but the problem is there the PCI system bus is not visible in my Device Manager.still it pop up at every startup.

PCI SMBUS Controller is something built into the later Intel chipsets as I understand. I have had the exact same problem as you in that Win98 would detect it but not install any drivers.the controllers and chipset's are different windows will try to reload and if it cant find the right ones it will put in some generic dirvers that will not always give you the functions you need.
