USB 2.0 TO SATA IDE CABLE does not work properly

I tried to use new branded “R-Driver III” USB 2.0 TO SATA IDE CABLE device with Laptop HD and Desktop HD (I set it to slave) but it did not show me the HD , although I checked Disk Management.

I thought the problem with “ R-Driver III ”, about another one branded as “R-Driver”

Still the same problem is going on with both Hard Disks

Both hard disks are working if I hook them into a computer

The device that I was talking about it similar to the link below

For that you need to go to Control Panel into Add/Remove Hardware, select UNinstall a Device, when you get the list, tick the box 'Show hidden devices'. You may see a yellow mark next to it, if not, scroll down until you find your hub (should have a Brand- or Model-name). Then try to uninstall all instances. Then either reboot, or go to Add/Remove HW again and try to ADD new hardware.

    Hey!
While this device helps you to use your fixed HDD as external portable disk, there are some problems with it, which has to occur. The speed of SATA is much more then the speed of USB, so while you use the converter you get a massive speed reduction. Again you cannot boot from the hard disk if it is connected through a converter. The main reason for the problems is that while converting, you can use a hardware, but there are no software conversion that occurs. HDD works on its speed and cannot get the results from USB as expected... So number of "miss" increases and number of "hits" decreases... All the best!

That windows 2000 not XP,,,, I tried Add Hardware Then choose : "USB TO IDE/SATA Device USB Device" --> This device is working properly --> Finish

when you get the list, tick the box 'Show hidden devices'.
I do not have such an option

I am not using SATA, both 2.5" and 3.5" are IDE

Again you cannot boot from the hard disk if it is connected through a converter.
    I am not trying that.

HDD works on its speed and cannot get the results from USB as expected...
Thanks for this tip, I was not aware of that.

Re: USB 2.0 TO SATA IDE CABLE does not work properly

-I tried the USB device and HD 3.5 on my friend's laptop and it worked fine without any problem.

His OS is XP , does not have any utilities installed on his laptop , unlike mine which I have got heaps of utilities.

Therefore he told that might be my problem,,,,Any input for such type of suggestion ?
