keyboard shortcuts Do Not Work in xp

i've read that after selecting any folder and pressing numlock+asterisk, all the folders and subfolders and files inside this folder will be shown in xp. but it never worked...............

There is no such shortcut unless you install a third party software! I guess someone just fooled you...!
