Guidelines to clean laser printer

I had purchased a new laser printer few months back. The printer is working fine and is giving excellent output. Since it has been months and I haven't opened a printer once for cleaning, I was wondering to clean the printer for maintainence purpose. Since it is my first time, I need the necessary guidelines for cleaning the printer. Can anybody help me regarding this ........thnx

Here are the necessary instructions to clean the laser printer -

- Unplug the printer from the surge suppressor.
- Remove the internal paper trays.
- Remove the toner cartridge and place it on a piece of scrap paper.
- Clean inside the toner cavity with a dry, lint-free cloth and brush.
- Clean the printer mirror gently with the brush.
- Wipe away dust and spilled toner.
- Remove paper fragments.
- Clean the rollers, but don't touch the sponge roller.
- Replace the toner cartridge.

Note -
Don't use any brush. The special brush is supplied to you as maintainence accessories along with your printer.
If you do not have a brush, then please don't touch the printer mirror.

Cleaning is a very important maintainence step that will help keeping a laser printer to run smoothly.
The exterior of the printer i.e printer body can be cleaned with a water-dampened cloth or a cleaner rated for electronics. Please take care that the cloth is not over-watered or extra wet and the water should not enter inside the printer.
The interior can be cleaned with a small vacuum or with compressed air. If you are using compressed air, then remove the fuser assembly. This will allow a path for dirt and debris to exit the printer. The interior can be further cleaned with a dry, lint-free cloth.

The manufacturer might have provided specific instructions in the printer manual, follow them.
