USB Ports: Chipsets Intel or AMD?

Ia m using an external soundcard Edirol M16 DX

2 USB for audio recording (many tracks simultaneously) and time to change config, I'd like to know if there are differences in the rate of transfer to these ports by the platform adopted? (Core 2 Quad or Phenom II)

I use an external hard drive with USB 2 for these recordings, where the strong solicitation of the ports.

No difference since the USB and a standard (for your general look here) does not depend on its manufacturers and that they should respect (size, transfer rate, power) when the position on the CM

It seems to me that the AMD chipsets have always been somewhat less successful in the management USB chipsets Intel and nVidia. However, the last SB750 southbridge chipsets hands.
